Just as I finished and celebrated my first run block of the year with the Zion 100, I happened to find the Tahoe Sierra 100 race to celebrate my first block of the year back on the bike.  After making the rounds and getting a NEW BIKE I could not think of a better way to rip my legs off this weekend.

 The TS100 is what I would consider a “real deal” race.  It is a point to point race in the mountains over technical single track trails with loads of climbing (~17,000-18,000ft) …

making the rounds

In the last month or so Monique and me have seen a lot of old friends and had a lot of time on the road and in the mountains.  We do not like the road so much but the mountains are calling and our friends are always worth the drive.
 
After a better than expected recovery from Zion, I found myself making a transition back to mountain biking and that is calling me into my next short term challenge and further onto what I ultimately find the most challenging in sport.
